![]() 7/2/2025game finished space marine 2 4.8/5 holy crap this was a great game it's been a while since i've played a single player campaign that felt as polished as this one. the story was pretty straightforward and accessible for someone who's only been starting to get into the 40k fandom and that's a great thing! it's a great way to get into just what the hell 40k is, because it gives just enough context, for the tyranids, for the heretic factions, but leaves enough out to leave you wanting to dig into the details, to find out just what the hell is going on in a deeper level. 6/11/2025book review Witchcraft for Wayward Girls: Grady Hendrix 4.5/5 downloaded this book sort of on a whim, i liked the old school style cover it had, with the lava lamp especially. there was something nostalic about it, and the secondary cover it has had weird stranger things type vibes to it as well. this one-off novel takes place in a maternity home in florida in the 1970s, one specifically for unwed teenage mothers. it starts off with a girl named neva in the car with her father, on the way to this maternity home, and naturally she's confused and afraid, because she has no idea on where they're going. her father's barely saying a word to her, treating her like a pariah, like she isn't even his daughter anymore. she reminisces about her boyfriend back home, and the regret she's feeling over losing her virginity, with her boyfriend even telling her when she tells him: "how could you do this to me?" the trip proceeds all the way through to their arrival at the home, and after she's checked in -- and given a new, fake name for anonymity's sake -- her asshole father leaves without even saying goodbye. The story continues to follow fern through her stay at the wellwood maternity home |
